AI Fundamentals Program

From 0 to AI in 8 Weeks

6 structured modules covering how neural networks actually work, where large language models get their quirks, and what it takes to build something useful with AI — not just talk about it.

What the 6 modules cover

Each module runs for about 9 days and combines recorded lectures, a live Q&A session, and a short hands-on exercise. The sequence is deliberate — later modules build directly on earlier ones, so skipping ahead tends to create gaps that show up during the project work.

  • 01
    How machines learn from data

Supervised vs. unsupervised learning, loss functions, gradient descent — explained through 4 worked examples without hiding the math.

  • 02
    Neural network architecture

Layer types, activation functions, backpropagation. You'll train a small network from scratch using NumPy before touching any framework.

  • 03
    Computer vision fundamentals

Convolutional networks, pooling, feature maps. Practical session uses a real image dataset — roughly 8,000 labeled samples.

  • 04
    Language models and transformers

Attention mechanisms, tokenization, context windows. We look at what happens inside GPT-style models — not just what they output.

  • 05
Working with AI APIs and tools

Prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, embedding search. You'll build a small retrieval pipeline during the live session.

  • 06
    Ethics, limits, and real deployment

Bias in training data, hallucination causes, cost considerations. Final project brief is issued here — you have 2 weeks to submit.

Who teaches

The people running the sessions

Three instructors take turns across the 6 modules, each covering the area where they spend most of their working time. You'll hear from someone who builds production AI systems, someone who does research, and someone who works daily with data pipelines.

Darko Veselić — AI Systems Architect
Darko Veselić

AI Systems Architect. Modules 1, 2 and 5. 11 years building ML pipelines at scale.

Marta Kindrat — Machine Learning Researcher
Marta Kindrat

ML Researcher. Module 4. Specializes in transformer architectures and NLP evaluation.

Bohdan Prykhodko — Data Science Lead
Bohdan Prykhodko

Data Science Lead. Modules 3 and 6. Focuses on computer vision and responsible deployment.

Common questions

Before you apply

No prior programming experience is required for the first 3 modules. From module 4 onward, basic Python familiarity helps — and we provide supplementary materials to get you there before that point.
Plan for around 6 to 8 hours per week — roughly 4 hours of video and reading, plus 2 to 4 hours for practical exercises and peer review. The final 2 weeks require more if you want a strong project submission.
Yes. Participants who complete all 6 modules and submit a final project receive a Lemdranok certificate of completion. It does not replace a university degree, but it does document specific skills with a concrete project attached.
All live webinar recordings are available in your account for 12 months after the program ends. You can rewatch any session at your own pace — the recordings include the Q&A portions as well.
